Charlotte's Baby Dedication

Last Sunday I went to witness the blessings God bestows on families with new children (babies and children).  Here is our happy family.  Norah, Brad, Alison and Charlotte. I am so proud of Alison and Brad as they are diligent with their focus on just where the glory belongs.....to God.  Here, Norah could not be safer than in the arms of her Daddy.
Managing children that are 16 months apart is no small task. These guys are a handful, but my sweet angels.Pastor Pat leads the church in calling for support of these families as they meet the challenges of raising Godly children.

Thanksgiving

My beautiful daughter Alison and granddaughter Norah at the Thanksgiving luncheon.Tuesday was the Thanksgiving Lunch at Smyrna First Baptist CLC. What a delight to see the arts and crafts each child made to share. Norah made a placemat using her painted fingers for the turkey feathers.
Turkey and dressing was not exactly Norah's fav; however, she enjoyed the cranberry congealed salad.
Thank you Lord for all of the blessings bestowed upon our family this year.  We pray to make you proud of our works and deeds.  Help us to seek ways to bless others.

Ain't it Grand

Let's just admit it, things change when the second child enters a family. Laps must be bigger, love grows larger, time seems to shrink, the list gets longer and the rewards are endless. If we only knew just how fast it truly passes, we would capture every day somehow. I am so proud of Alison and Brad and how (with such short notice) they are adjusting to God's plans for them and their family.Dad Brad handling Norah's bathtime.

A stop by my office, the girls were dressed in their Halloween attire. Alison always has them dressed to the nines.
Norah has the work thing down already multitasking with the telephone. My dear friend Diane is snuggling with Charlotte. I love her costume!
Here is Halloween with the family. Norah is a Panda, a marching, dancing, happy Panda. What a hoot!

Grandmother of Two

I now have a much better understanding of the word "Grand"mother. Women who reach this place in their lives know how truly Grand, joyous, fulfilling, awesome, emotional, silly, energizing, joyous (oh, I did say that already)....well you get the idea.
I am blessed beyond belief of where I am in my life today. The appreciation I have always had for my own Grandmother has always had a selfless and shining example of what I could only hope to become one day. The wonderful support and love my own Mother gave me as she too was so involved in my children's lives. OK, it's an emotional post, but one that I believe we all can identify in some way or another.

It's a Beautiful Day

This morning finds me getting ready for another busy day. Work is slammed.

The guiding light is family. Last night we were able to briefly meet our new granddaughter Charlotte Marie. She is tiny. Alison and Brad were already at managing a young family. Their love and the loving support they have received is overwhelming. God has made this all possible.

Post from a Blessed Grannie

It has been too long since I have posted. There are many reasons and excuses I could put here; however, there is a much more pressing topic to address.

Just two days ago, my daughter, Alison, received a call that could only be received with the joy and excitement of one who walks in faith. Alison and Brad were told that their daughter's birthmother was pregnant and ready to deliver soon. She wanted Alison and Brad to consider bringing Norah's brother or sister into their family. Well, let me say, it has been quite a whirlwind since Monday.

Please check out Alison's post and read the daunting challenge they have ahead of them. To bring this baby home from the hospital the initial fee of $12,000 must be paid. Where this process would normally take several months to complete, these unique circumstances have put a challenge in front of us that only by the grace of God, can this be accomplished. We are sharing this wonderful news and would like for those who wish to support their adoption to step in and help.

Please go to Alison's blog: http://www.adoptionphotoblog.com

Please support them in your prayers as well for health and peace for whatever decision is made by the birthmother for this baby.
